How long does an AI check take?

Same-day results. Most projects complete the same day; 200-500 sheet projects often in a few hours. You get an email when results are ready, and you can self-serve runs without talking to sales.

Yes. InspectMind AI compares original vs revised sets and addenda/ASIs vs contract documents, highlights what changed, where new issues appear, and what needs a second look, so you can manage revisions and change orders with clarity.

How does the AI determine critical vs high vs medium severity?

The AI assigns severity based on impact. Critical issues are those that would result in design changes, construction delays, or significant rework if not addressed—e.g. code violations affecting life safety, major coordination conflicts, or constructability problems. High issues are important but less likely to stop the job. Medium and Low cover things like typos, invalid sheet references, or minor inconsistencies. Every issue includes an explanation so you can verify and re-priority or mark as 'not valid' if you disagree.

Can we compare two spec sets or two drawing sets side by side?

Not yet. Today you run one set through the checker and get an issue list. A side-by-side 'what changed between set A and set B' or 'spec set 1 vs spec set 2' comparison view is on our roadmap. In the meantime, many teams run each set separately and compare the issue lists (e.g. run district standard specs, run design team specs, then triage the differences). We're also building progressive check tracking so you can see which issues were fixed between revisions.

How is InspectMind different from BIM clash detection (Navisworks, Solibri)?

BIM clash detection finds physical geometry conflicts—a pipe running through a beam. InspectMind AI catches a completely different category of errors: specification vs drawing conflicts, code violations, missing information, cross-sheet inconsistencies, and notes/annotation errors. Most construction still runs on 2D PDFs where BIM isn't available. AI plan review complements BIM—it fills the gaps that geometric clash detection can't address.

Can I check against my own internal design standards or guidelines?

Yes. Upload your internal QA checklists, design guidelines, client standards, or any custom reference document. AI checks your drawings against both standard building codes and your custom criteria. This is especially useful for firms with established QA processes who want to automate compliance checking against their own standards.

Does InspectMind check sustainability codes like LEED or green building standards?

Yes, when you provide the relevant sustainability standards as reference documents. AI can cross-check design elements against LEED prerequisite requirements, BREEAM, Green Star, Estidama, and other green building rating systems. Upload the applicable standard and AI will flag where the design may not meet requirements.

Can I use InspectMind on progress sets—30%, 50%, 80% designs—not just final CDs?

Yes. AI plan review works at any design stage. At 30% SD, it focuses on major coordination and feasibility. At 50% DD, it checks cross-discipline alignment. At 80% CD, it runs full code compliance and completeness checks. Missing information is flagged as 'not yet shown' rather than an error. Each check is priced separately today; high-volume teams can discuss volume commitments with sales.

Can you compare revision 1 and revision 2 drawings?

We don't offer a side-by-side 'what changed between rev 1 and rev 2' diff view. What we do support: upload the city's plan check comments plus your updated drawings and run a check—the AI can verify whether the comments have been addressed. Many customers also run a fresh check on each revision (e.g. 30%, 50%, 90%) so every submission is reviewed. Each re-check is priced as a new check.
